President and CEO
Steven is an internationally recognized class action notice expert and one of the premier thought leaders in the class action administration industry. He is President and Chief Executive Officer of Angeion Group, a leading provider of comprehensive settlement management services. He has authored numerous articles in national legal publications on such diverse topics as media notice programs, using digital media to notify class members, class action claims administration and proper claim form design. Largely accepted as the leading proponent for the use of digital and social media in the class action notification industry, Steven has consulted with and advised some of the largest corporations in the world. He has also lectured extensively to many of the largest law firms in the world, as well as hedge fund managers, bar associations and in-house counsel on class action notice and claims procedures.
Steven is a licensed attorney in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Chief Financial Officer
Evan Flamm joined Angeion Group in 2025 as Chief Financial Officer. With over a decade of private equity experience, Evan will lead the strategic and corporate finance initiatives of the Company. Prior to joining Angeion, Evan served as CFO of three private equity companies. From 2019 – 2024, Evan led the acquisitions and subsequent integrations of 13 separate M&A transactions totaling over $200MM in revenues . Evan also served as head of marketing, IT, legal and compliance of those organizations. In 2021, Evan successfully led his company, My Alarm Center, through a prepackaged Chapter 11 restructuring and subsequent merger with Alert 360 in December 2021. Prior to his CFO roles, Evan served as Vice President of Finance and Analytics at Connect America from 2015-2019, growing the Company organically and through M&A (with a $80MM acquisition) into the largest personal emergency response provider in the United States. Before his leadership roles, Evan supported a transformative sale of a debt collection business owned by One Equity Partners and raised over $200MM for a startup company (ShopRunner) from Alibaba Group. Evan holds a bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University, majoring in Finance with a minor in Business Law. In his spare time, Evan relishes the moments with his two young daughters, wife, and pets, while being an avid sports fan.
Chief Operating Officer
Derek is responsible for directing Angeion’s operations to modernize and deliver best-in-class notice and claims administration services. He is dedicated to achieving operational excellence through data-driven, continuous improvement, and innovation. Derek brings his experience in strategic planning and execution to improve the quality of our offerings and support Angeion’s continued rapid growth.
Before joining Angeion, Derek served as head of the operations and legal functions for GrammaTech and lead counsel for MarkLogic – software and professional services companies with premier customers around the world. After law school, Derek practiced in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, primarily focusing on corporate law and litigation.
Derek has a JD from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, and a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University. He is a member of the New York and Virginia bar associations and is involved with several local non-profits. Derek currently serves on the Tompkins County Public Library Foundation board and Cinemapolis finance committee.
Chief Revenue Officer
Eric has over 18 years of experience aligning organizations’ operations, technology, and resourcing with customer-centric strategic growth and innovation initiatives. For the past 13 years, Eric’s experience involves the business of law; working for legal services firms, legal technology firms, and consulting with in-house legal teams and, Class Action, and Mass Tort law firms throughout the world.
Alongside team members and clients, Eric works to co-create solutions that broke down antiquated business practices and applied technology and analytics insights to drive strategic growth and risk abatement – most notably data security risk.
At Angeion, Eric drives sustainable growth and align organizational structures to support clients, claimants, and the other stakeholders in both domestic and global mass litigation, including mass torts, class actions, mass arbitration and collective redress actions in emerging jurisdictions.
Eric is a certified ISO 27001 Lead Implementer and speaks fluent English and French. He holds a bachelor’s degree from University of Texas Arlington and a master’s degree in Business Analytics from Syracuse University.
Chief Technology Officer
Ryan is responsible for building accountable, accurate, and efficient processes through the smart application of technology. Prior to joining Angeion, he served as President of Diversified Medical Records Services (DMRS), which specialized in the secure and digital delivery of medical records. At DMRS, Mr. Hallman transformed both its operations and technology stack into a class leader in operating efficiency, accuracy, and reliability. By the end of 2021, he negotiated a very successful exit of DMRS for its shareholders. His background in healthcare comes with a strong privacy focus and an emphasis on checks and balances to ensure reliability throughout the entire process lifecycle. Mr. Hallman has experience in private equity, helping take pre-IPO companies public.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from USC Marshall School of Business. In 2020, he was elected by his peers as the Vice President of Association of Health Information Outsourcing Services (AHIOS).
Senior Vice President of Class Action & Mass Tort Services
With her extensive background in large-scale litigation matters, Christian plays a valuable role in consulting with current and prospective Angeion Group clients to develop and implement pre-settlement and settlement administration solutions for class action and mass tort related cases.
As a former Assistant Attorney General in the Office of the Minnesota Attorney General, Christian litigated highly publicized consumer protection and antitrust cases. She also worked as an associate attorney in private practice where she focused exclusively on large-scale complex class action litigation, in the areas of securities, antitrust, and consumer fraud. While attending law school, she externed for the Honorable Judge Paul Magnuson, United States District Court, District of Minnesota, and worked at the U.S. Department of Justice in the Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Section. Prior to that, Christian worked on Capitol Hill for former United States Senator Byron Dorgan, which helped fuel her desire to be an advocate for people via principled approaches.
Christian holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Dakota and a JD from the University of Minnesota Law School.
Senior Vice President of Class Action & Mass Tort Services
Kendall has over two decades of experience in complex class action litigation. Throughout his extensive career, Kendall has represented dozens of antitrust plaintiffs. He has also served as an Assistant District Attorney in Philadelphia. Most recently, Kendall served as senior vice president at Rust Consulting and head of Rust’s antitrust and securities practice areas.
As a Senior Vice President of Class Actions and Mass Torts at Angeion Group, Kendall consults existing and prospective clients to identify and meet settlement administration goals for the parties, the court, and all stakeholders.
Kendall received his J.D. degree from Temple University School of Law and holds a bachelor’s degree in from Calvin College. In 2013, he was appointed to the Advisory Board of the American Antitrust Institute. Kendall also serves on the Advisory Board of Committee to Support the Antitrust Laws (COSAL). He is a licensed attorney in the state of Pennsylvania.
Vice President of Class Action & Mass Tort Services
With over two decades of experience in the legal and financial services industries, Mr. Wilmot provides a consultative solutions-based approach to the settlement administration needs of Angeion Group’s clients and prospective customers. He has worked in business development and relationship management roles in the professional services field for over 15 years. Most recently, Mr. Wilmot provided specialized banking solutions to class action attorneys and settlement administrators managing complex Qualified Settlement Funds. He also held diverse roles at two prominent securities class action law firms focusing on institutional investor client development and new case generation. He created and instituted proprietary portfolio monitoring solutions for the firm’s institutional investor clients seeking recovery from securities fraud damages. He has extensive experience with calculations of client losses and recoverable damages according to PSLRA guidelines.
Brett graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in statistics. At Michigan, he was a Big Ten Champion and NCAA All-American diver for the Michigan Men’s Swimming & Diving team. As a 2-time member of the U.S. Men’s National Diving Team, Brett also participated in the 2000 U.S. Olympic Trials.
Vice President of Class Action & Mass Tort Services
With her extensive background in complex litigation, Jennifer plays a valuable role in consulting with current and prospective Angeion Group clients to develop and implement pre-settlement and settlement administration solutions.
Jennifer brings 21 years of experience working in complex litigation helping law firms and legal counsel streamline their current processes, do more with less, and overall improve their bottom line. In her previous roles as the Leader of New Business Development, Jennifer was able to guide her clients through the litigation lifecycle offering compliance, client acquisition, and strategic cost-saving solutions with customized software to meet their specific needs.
Jennifer holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration Marketing and Management from Coastal Carolina University and a master’s degree in Legal Studies from Wake Forest University. In her free time, Jennie enjoys volunteering for the National Brain Tumor Society, swimming with her Masters Swim club, and living lake life with her family in Lake Norman, NC.
Vice President of Class Action & Mass Tort Services
Stephanie Saunders brings over eight years of experience as a class action attorney to her role at Angeion Group, where she excels at building strong client relationships and providing expert guidance throughout the settlement administration process.
Stephanie started her legal career at Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith LLP, where she litigated large-scale, complex cases in areas like false and misleading advertising, defective products, consumer protection, and ERISA. Her deep knowledge of class actions helps her handle complex client needs effectively. Stephanie’s background also includes marketing and advertising experience at Condé Nast Publications and PNC Wealth Management, which she uses to develop creative solutions for settlement administration.
As an elected member of the Board of Directors for the Public Interest Law Center, Stephanie is actively involved in fundraising and advocacy efforts to support underserved communities in Philadelphia. She earned her J.D. from the Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law, where she received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award, and her B.S. in Business Administration from Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business, earning the Tom Ridge Scholarship for academic achievement.

She draws upon over two decades of experience as both a UK solicitor and as a US attorney to expand the scope and impact of our service offerings while providing practical solutions to our client’s project needs.
Dawn has been a featured speaker at Mass Tort Made Perfect, the American Association of Justice, and Ontario Bar Association Colloquium. Dawn supports female leaders in the legal industry, co-founded and co-hosted the Women of Class Summit Canada, was a speaker at the Western Canada Class Action Conference, and continues to co-host the Class of Our Own Women’s Summit in Nashville to celebrate and empower female leaders.
Dawn McPherson is a licensed attorney in the State of New York and a Qualified Solicitor in the Supreme Court of England and Wales.
Director of Commercial Services
Michael Lynch, the Director of Commercial Services at Angeion Group, brings nearly five years of versatile expertise to his role, seamlessly integrating law, business, and project development. In collaboration with team members and clients, he consultatively designs administration plans that are data driven, limit risk, and deliver value.
Prior to joining Angeion, Michael worked in the legal field with positions in contract management, in private practice, and at a venture capital fund.
Michael holds a JD from Penn State Dickinson Law and a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University. He is a licensed attorney in the state of Pennsylvania. Michael Lynch’s comprehensive skill set continues to be a driving force behind Angeion Group’s ongoing success, making him an invaluable asset to the organization.
Chief Financial Officer
Shawn Naugle, the Executive Vice President of Finance at Angeion Group, oversees key initiatives, special projects, and core business functions. With a rich background spanning over three decades, Shawn has amassed diverse expertise in financial management, business leadership, and corporate strategy.
Since Angeion’s inception in August 2013, Shawn has been an instrumental part of the company, contributing significantly to establishing crucial accounting, operational policies, procedures, and controls during its rapid growth phase. Simultaneously, he held the role of CFO/Controller at Reliable Companies, a litigation support firm, for an impressive 20 years. Prior to this, he rapidly ascended to the position of Controller at Parkway Corporation, a real estate development and parking management company, where he spent eight years. His foundational experience in finance was acquired during a two-year tenure at a public accounting firm.
Beyond his professional commitments, Shawn is passionate about coaching youth baseball and dek hockey. He also contributes actively as a board member of a Men’s Roller Hockey League, showcasing his commitment to sports and community engagement.
Executive Vice President of People
Maria Ortiz boasts 18+ years as a seasoned HR professional spanning diverse industries. Director of Information Technology
Accomplished Senior IT leader with proven ability to design, build and direct and secure all aspects of corporate IT systems. Certified network engineer with “hands-on” practical knowledge, supervising, managing, and performing network administration, security, design, implementation, installation, and configuration for highly successful companies in both the private and public sectors since 1998.
Director of Marketing
Gabby is responsible for creating and accelerating Angeion’s marketing strategy and brand recognition across the globe. She is focused on marketing development, event management, content marketing, branding, and strategic planning. A strong champion for equity, Gabby serves as a leader for Angeion’s Culture, Diversity, and Inclusion initiative.
Before joining Angeion in 2019, Gabby was the Social Media and Brand Manager for a multi-million dollar international management consulting firm. She was accountable for managing the firm’s social media strategy, facilitating targeted content for the firm’s quarterly thought leadership magazine, and training career consultants to leverage social media in an era of social selling. When Gabby returned to Angeion in 2022, she brought the experience from her role at Yelp, where she served as the Philadelphia Community Manager. Through this role, she ideated, planned, and managed over 50 in-person community events and experiences for Yelp’s superuser community.
Currently, she is on the Executive Leadership Committee for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Big Climb event in Philadelphia. Gabby is also involved in Big Buddies and fosters for the Philly Bully Team animal rescue. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Legal Studies from the University of Delaware.
Director of Operations
Risa, an experienced class action administration professional, brings over 35 years of expertise spanning across a variety of industries, including consumer products, employment law, product liability, antitrust, and securities matters with a focus on settlement administration to her role at Angeion Group. She has a demonstrated history of working in the legal services industry including supervision and overall project management of intricate settlements. The cases she has overseen have included complex legal matters encompassing millions of claims each. Her experience has built a complete understanding of all aspects of the administration process.
As a class action claims administration professional, Risa is committed to providing clients with strategic guidance throughout the process. This involves collaborating with legal teams and Angeion teams to ensure that settlements are managed with the utmost professionalism and efficiency.
Currently, Risa is involved at Temple Judea of Bucks County as a Fundraising Chairperson, President of the Women’s Group, and a member of the Obligations Review Committee. In addition, she is a Pennsylvania Notary.
Previously, Risa served as Manager of Claims Administration for RSM US LLP (formerly RSM McGladrey, McGladrey LLP and Rudolph, Palitz LLP). She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, both from Temple University.
UK Managing Director
Tom plays a critical role in developing Angeion’s strategic client relationships with leading law firms, litigation funders and other legal and consumer organizations. Based in London, he consults with Angeion’s clients to implement solutions relating to legal noticing, book-building, claims processing and funds distribution.
Prior to joining Angeion Group, Tom worked at Crawford & Company/The Garden City Group, where he partnered with UK law firms, litigation funders and financial institutions to support their unique program needs in settlement, bankruptcy proceedings, and data breach matters. Earlier in his career, Tom was the Managing Director of a legal services outsourcing firm offering solutions for legal administration, document review, and electronic discovery to law firms, corporations, and banking clients. He is a frequent presenter at industry conferences, offering thought leadership on topics ranging from the use of technology in dispute resolution and facilitating legal investigations through outsourced solutions.
Tom holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from the University of Oxford.
Global Collective Actions Advisor
Maria José, Angeion’s Global Collective Actions Advisor, is a distinguished expert in Comparative Law, specializing in Collective redress. As an Associate Professor at the University of Paris-Saclay, she shapes Master’s programs in Consumer law, International Contracts, and Comparative procedural law at prestigious institutions like University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas.
With dual PhDs from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University and the University of Buenos Aires, Maria José has authored over 80 publications in three languages. Her extensive work covers class actions, collective and group actions, spanning procedural law, liability, consumer law, environmental law, and discrimination.
Beyond academia, Maria José advises the European Parliament on Collective redress and co-chairs the Paris-Saclay Legal Clinics. She founded the Observatory of Group Actions and Collective Redress, fostering interdisciplinary research and practitioner collaboration.
Formerly a lawyer in Buenos Aires, Maria José brings vast experience in collective actions practice and negotiating amicable settlements for consumer associations. Presently, she serves as an international counsel and sits on the Executive Board of European nonprofits dedicated to access to justice in mass tort cases, balancing her academic and advocacy commitments.
Technology Operations Director
Sam brings to the table close to two decades of extensive experience in the IT and Cybersecurity sectors, encompassing not only technical expertise but also a profound understanding of Business Operations and operational excellence. Over the last three years, Sam has successfully transitioned into the legal operations and technical operations domains, where he has solidified his position as a prominent leader and thought innovator.
His notable achievements include authoring a well-received book that delves into the effective implementation of procedures and technology, emphasizing cost-effectiveness. In his current role, Sam works collaboratively with the Angeion team, approaching responsibilities with a holistic perspective. He consistently evaluates and enhances internal processes and procedures, applying dynamic improvements to optimize team efficiency. Sam’s strategic initiatives equip our teams with the necessary tools to better address the diverse needs of our clients.
Assistant Director of Business Operations
Troy, a New York-licensed attorney, brings over fourteen years of class action administration expertise to his pivotal role at Angeion. Collaborating closely with the company’s leadership, he provides comprehensive guidance on class action projects and legal notice programs both domestically and globally.
Before joining Angeion, Troy made significant contributions at Garden City Group, Inc., where he managed the Deepwater BP Oil Spill administration under leadership guidance. Prior to this, his commitment to social justice was evident at Nassau Suffolk Law Services, where he offered crucial legal support to low-income and disabled individuals.
Troy graduated cum laude with a J.D. from Touro Law Center and holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Stony Brook University. His academic foundation in psychology underscores his understanding of human behavior, complementing his legal expertise and commitment to advocating for fairness and justice.
